Gold Leaf End Table

1 / 18 / 182 / 6 / 18

I think you all know by now that I love metallic finishes. So when I wanted to restore this antique style end table I chose to gild it.

In a previous post, I showed the details of how to silver leaf a dresser.  It is a little bit time-consuming but the end result is well worth it.  This time I used gold leaf papers, I chose pale tone gold, I don’t like the very brassy gold color. As for pulls, I was so excited when I found these black white and gold pulls. They matched perfectly my courtly check Mackenzie Childs pieces.

Here are the pictures:

Sequin Makes Me Feel Better

1 / 14 / 182 / 22 / 18

I’m writing this at the end of a very rough week. My little one was and still sick, he is teething. Four stubborn molars knocked the poor guy down. Fever, fatigue, and vomiting. He is sick, I’m exhausted, the house is a mess and no time for mama. My husband and son went fishing in the morning along with some friends. We were scheduled to stay home after they returned, but felt like that will drive- me crazy.  I told myself that I need to go out to get myself out of this mood. So here are the details…

Threw on a sequin gold skirt that I had from years ago (Forever 21.) Yes I know, you may say sequin in the morning! Well if you wear sequin with a casual sweater it will be the perfect outfit for the day. So I put on an off-white sweater with tiered sleeve detail.  My favorite piece of this outfit is my very dear and precious vintage red coat ( This coat belonged to my mom and I love it way too much).  As for shoes, I chose my Burberry sneakers with the perfect hint of red.

After getting ready my mood changed automatically, kid you not. This is the magic of dressing up.

A Day at the Museums

1 / 10 / 181 / 13 / 18

Last Saturday, we went out to a train and an auto show. My 5-year-old son was so excited and he had a blast. He is obsessed with any kind of transportation vehicle.

Since it is a family outing, so I chose a comfy and cozy outfit.

I’ve always been and I’ll always be a pastel color kinda girl.   I love to wear light colors on gloomy cold winter days, I believe that they relax me.  So today’s outfit is pink, gray and white.

My Tea Station

1 / 7 / 181 / 12 / 18

Everyone I know is addicted to coffee. They can’t function unless they have their morning coffee. Well, I hate coffee! I tried it with milk, creamer, and sugar but nothing made me hate it any less. On the bright side, I’m a tea addict. I drink it two and sometimes three times a day.

In my home country, we drink tea with any breakfast meal, and  I carried this tradition to the States. That’s why I wanted to have a tea station so I can have everything in my hand reach: mugs, sugar and of course tea bags.

I snapped these pictures before my afternoon tea time. If you’re using your phone, click on each picture to enlarge.

This is not a scene that I arranged for this shoot. This is how my tea station on a daily basis. Well, less the half eaten cake.

2018 first outfit

1 / 3 / 181 / 12 / 18

Happy New Year everyone.

I decided to start this year with a comfy yet stylish outfit. Remember I’m a mother of two, a 1-year-old and a 5-year-old. So practicality is a must. Changing diapers, fixing my son’s shoes for the hundredth time just because there is something in it, wet diaper accidents, these are all easy tasks when you are wearing flat boots and midi dress ( believe me I tried in heels and mini dresses and I almost wanted to kill my self 🙂 )

Vintage Cake Smash Pictures

12 / 29 / 171 / 12 / 18

I would like to share with you today my son’s cake smash pictures. I took these pictures after 3 weeks from his actual birthday party, I was always busy and I kept postponing it.

His birthday theme was “world little traveler” vintage style. Some vintage old world maps, wooden high chair, and raw cake like beautiful old days.

If you’re viewing these pictures from your phone,  just click to see them clearly.

I painted this wooden high chair 4 years ago for my older son’s cake smashing pictures and I kept it because I knew I will use it again for my second child.

Christmas outfit

12 / 27 / 171 / 12 / 18

We were invited to a Christmas dinner at our friends’ house. So I had in mind to snap few pictures with the boys all dressed up before leaving the house, but I was so so wrong. It was so hard to control my baby next to the Christmas tree, he was removing the ornaments of the tree, running around the coffee table and throwing everything on the floor, as for my older son he was just making silly faces all the time.

I don’t know how Instagram families post one perfect picture after another with their kids. I have only 2 kids and I couldn’t take one decent picture with them 😀  This picture was one of the best.

For this Christmas, I chose a pink outfit to match my Candy Land theme. The indoor pictures that I snapped didn’t turn out good, so here are the outdoor ones.

CandyLand Christmas in our home

12 / 14 / 171 / 19 / 18

Hello Blog-Land, it’s been almost 2 years. I miss it, I really miss writing to all of you my dearest followers. but life gets really busy when you have 2 kids. But I promised my self, this time I will not stop writing even if I do it once weekly.

Lets have a small recap, now I have 2 boys, one is almost 5 years and the other just turned 1, we moved to a new home so a lot of new decoration projects are on the way, and now I’m a full-time mommy ( I stopped the online shop few months after I had my first son ).

Let me share with you my Christmas decor for this year. I wanted something unique, fun and can be girly to satisfy my love of pink color but yet boyish since the boys are dominant in this house ( 3 boys including the hubby). So as soon as I saw these lollipops ornaments at Hobby Lobby I envisioned the look on my son’s face when he sees Candy-Land Christmas in the house.

Chairish rug challenge

2 / 18 / 151 / 19 / 18

When Chairish challenged me to create a room full of color, I couldn’t be happier. I  live and breath colors.

To start with Chairish  is “an exclusive, curator approved, online marketplace for vintage and used furniture.” One can easily spend hours surfing this amazing site looking for vintage furniture, decor, jewelry and accessories.

So here is my board

I chose this “Turquoise Overdyed Turkish Patchwork rug” because I love all of its different tones. The combination of blue and green make it rich and forgiving especially when you have a 2 year old boy that loves to play “Jump Jump” on the couch. The metal gold base Hollywood Regency Ottoman adds joy to the board. Its bright and fun fabric needed to be toned down by the neutral mid century sofa. In addition, the green tone in the Queen Anne Style Armchairs perfects the room as it matches the rug.
Finally, some accent pieces like this Vintage Gold Bamboo Bar Cart and this Gold Bamboo Chinoiserie Mirror give a sense of completion to the area. The Asian motif Lamp with its green and pink shades tie the room together. And how can a room be complete without some Turkish Turquoise Pillows and some Turkish Pink Pillows.

– Nursery

2 / 10 / 151 / 19 / 18

My baby is now 2 years old and I think it is about time to share with you his nursery lol 😀

It wasn’t easy to find THE CRIB, since all the cribs I liked were so out of my budget, and the ones I can afford were so basic, so after a long long search, I found THE ONE on Amazon. It was white, sturdy and curvy. Yes you heard me curvy, I don’t know why but I didn’t like the straight lines cribs lol
